Standard weight, mill weight and today's amount
Total for 1 length · standard weight
—kg
The result appears hereEnter Leg and Thickness.
Method
A standard size is read from the EN 10056 equal-angle table. Any other leg and thickness uses the exact L-section area: thickness × (2 × leg − thickness) × 0.00785.
The density of steel is 7.85 g/cm³ (7850 kg/m³) throughout. A number is rounded once, when shown; the table below and the calculator above are the same computation.
The "standard weight" is the nominal weight by table or formula. The "mill weight" is what that mill states for its own length; once you pick a mill, the calculation and the amount use it.

angle 100×100×10 weighs 15 kg per metre, and a 6 m length weighs 90 kg. Basis: Standard table EN 10056.
For angle 100×100×10, one tonne is 11.11 lengths of 6 m, that is 12 whole lengths (1,080 kg). For any other size use the count-from-weight mode.
The standard weight is the nominal weight by table or formula, the same for every mill. The mill weight is what each mill states for its own length. Pick a mill and its weight and today's price become the basis of the amount.
Pick a mill to see the amount at today's price, then use "Add to cart" or "Proforma". There is no online payment; an Ahantime expert calls to complete the purchase.
