Standard weight, mill weight and today's amount
Method
Weight per metre is the diameter squared divided by 162 (mm → kg): the circle area times the density of steel, 7.85 g/cm³. It equals the nominal mass of the rebar standard.
The density of steel is 7.85 g/cm³ (7850 kg/m³) throughout. A number is rounded once, when shown; the table below and the calculator above are the same computation.
The "standard weight" is the nominal weight by table or formula. The "mill weight" is what that mill states for its own length; once you pick a mill, the calculation and the amount use it.

rebar Ø14 weighs 1.21 kg per metre, and a 12 m length weighs 14.52 kg. Basis: Formula d² ÷ 162.
For rebar Ø14, one tonne is 68.88 lengths of 12 m, that is 69 whole lengths (1,001.78 kg). For any other size use the count-from-weight mode.
The standard weight is the nominal weight by table or formula, the same for every mill. The mill weight is what each mill states for its own length. Pick a mill and its weight and today's price become the basis of the amount.
Pick a mill to see the amount at today's price, then use "Add to cart" or "Proforma". There is no online payment; an Ahantime expert calls to complete the purchase.
