Standard weight and today's amount for your order
Method
Tee weight is read from the tee table (DIN 1024 sections); the size number is the height in cm.
The density of steel is 7.85 g/cm³ (7850 kg/m³) throughout. A number is rounded once, when shown; the table below and the calculator above are the same computation.
The "standard weight" is the nominal weight by table or formula. The "mill weight" is what that mill states for its own length; once you pick a mill, the calculation and the amount use it.
Reference table
Common sizes, by the same computation as the calculator.
| Size | kg per metre | kg per 6 m length |
|---|---|---|
| 2 | 0.887 | 5.32 |
| 2.5 | 1.295 | 7.77 |
| 3 | 1.77 | 10.62 |
| 3.5 | 2.33 | 13.98 |
| 4 | 2.96 | 17.76 |
| 5 | 4.44 | 26.64 |
| 6 | 6.23 | 37.38 |
| 7 | 8.32 | 49.92 |
| 8 | 10.7 | 64.2 |
| 10 | 16.4 | 98.4 |
| 12 | 23.2 | 139.2 |
| 14 | 31.3 | 187.8 |
tee size 5 weighs 4.44 kg per metre, and a 6 m length weighs 26.64 kg. Basis: Tee weight table (DIN 1024).
For tee size 5, one tonne is 37.54 lengths of 6 m, that is 38 whole lengths (1,012.32 kg). For any other size use the count-from-weight mode.
The standard weight is the nominal weight by table or formula, the same for every mill. The mill weight is what each mill states for its own length. Pick a mill and its weight and today's price become the basis of the amount.
Pick a mill to see the amount at today's price, then use "Add to cart" or "Proforma". There is no online payment; an Ahantime expert calls to complete the purchase.
